You’re not alone! I’m experienced in working with horses to get the best out of them, even when they’re a bit fidgety. I’ve written a whole blog post on the subject here.
The professional equipment I use ensures you have a beautiful blurred background to allow you and your horse’s relationship to take centre-stage. This also means that having a phenomenal background isn’t necessary.
If you are concerned, I do have some tips on presenting your property in my welcome pack, as well as a list of options if you’d like to travel off property.
See here the location I used to take these headshots with Arthur.
Not at all!
All collections include a print credit, with most collections also including an album. This is because I believe that printed art is the best way to experience your memories. It’s completely up to you if you use your print credit. Your credit will be valid for three years after your session date, so you can choose to wait until the time is right for you to decorate your home.
All of the printed artwork I offer includes the associated high resolution digitals. In most cases, this means that you get the best value from buying your memories as a print versus a digital.
I can photograph multiple horses! For this you will need to add on additional time to one of the smaller collections a la carte, or select one of the larger collections.
A signed contract and a paid $150 retainer and I’m yours!
After your session you’ll be shown a gallery of anywhere from 50-100 proofs to select from. This varies on the length of your session and number of pets and outfits included. Think of this gallery as what you would see immediately after a competition.
We’ll work together to nail down your choices and select your artwork. Depending on your collection, you can select up to 50 images as digital and printed keepsakes. You can still then select further images.
Your prints will be sent to you after a quality inspection by myself, and your digital files will be emailed to you.
This would fall under commercial use. If you are interested in images solely for your business, I recommend contacting me about a brand photography experience.
I’ve photographed plenty of dark animals including horses and dogs. The ‘contouring’ process I use when editing means that you can always see them against dark objects or black backgrounds. I can always use a grey 'watercolour' background for a lovely, timeless look.
No :) All you need is a flat, roofed area with 5-10m of space in front.
I bring a backdrop with me every session so we can be flexible. More of my black background sessions have been done in carports or sheds than in stable blocks!
For a white background session an open but covered space such as a carport is actually preferred to a closed in stable block.
Sure do! Whether in the images with your beloved horse or enjoying a session of their own, I’d love to immortalise your fur baby.
Horse, rider and tack should be well presented to get the best out of your photo session. You can also see my session preparation tips here.
I have a guide on a timeline for the perfect photo session coming soon! I also work with all of my clients on custom building a session which is perfect for your needs.
Each collection includes 30 minutes or more of travel from my home in the Hawkesbury or my office in Schofields.
You can add more travel to your collection if you live further away, or if you'd like to split your session over 2 days. This is a great option if you'd like your horse plaited or banded for your fine art session, but with a free flowing mane for your horse & rider session!
I can offer an a la carte experience at a reduced price for horses with a terminal diagnosis. This covers your session time only, but guarantees that you have memories with your horse, and can come back to buy digital or printed art when you are ready.
As these sessions usually occur on short notice, they incur an extended turnaround time.

If you genuinely don't think you'll make use of printed products, you can choose to go with only digital files - but there's no incentive to do so, as the pricing is the same. Most people wanting lots of digital files end up choosing a piece like an album or story box, as it comes with many digital files.

You deserve the best experience. That’s why I want to make sure I’m the right choice for you.
As much as I would love to, I can’t take every session I’m approached to photograph. I become genuinely invested in every one of my clients’ equine love stories, and serve them well. That’s why it’s important I work with horse lovers with shared values.
I’d love to hear more about you and your horse’s story.
