Alexa & Bentley | Bronte & Giselle | Central Coast black background horse photoshoot

Bentley & Giselle, photographed in the picturesque Dooralong, on the Central Coast.

Sisters Alexa and Bronte selected a black background equine photo session, with the intent to create artwork to stay with them for life.

Our session was booked for a positively sweltering Summer day – but fortunately I arrived to find the ponies relaxing in the stable with fans blasting, as final touches were applied. Bronte is experienced in the world of show prep, and boy it showed with her plaits! She and Giselle have had a long and successful partnership over the last four and a half years. Giselle’s show horse career has included great results at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, including 2nd in Ladies Show Hunter Galloway and a win in the novice lady rider 21-40 years. Giselle is truly a ‘people person’ – always greeting Bronte with a nicker and ready for a cuddle.

Alexa and Bentley have had a shorter partnership, but they’ve already come so far. Bentley is an ex-showjumper turned dressage pony (well and truly – look at the booty!), and has become part of the family. Alexa, also known as Lexi (yes, before you ask – we did have a few times mid-session where we both turned and said “yes?” as someone said our names!) loves how her and Bentley bounce off each other, and how she can read him like a book. Bentley wasn’t so fussed on the modelling life at our session, but we still captured his special nature and his proud stance.

See more pictures from the session below:

I loved helping create artwork for Lexi & Bronte, and hope they enjoy their wall art! I’m not sure what’s better – ponies on your wall, or knowing the art comes with a 75 year guarantee for even accidental damage?!
