2022 Equestrian Photoshoot Bloopers

Photographic proof that equestrian photoshoots don’t go to plan, but boy does that make us laugh!

Hoping this blog post gets your 2023 off to a laughing start. Let me know which blooper is your favourite at the end!

.

“Almost” getting hit in the face is basically a rite of passage at your photo session

.

.

As is a “blep” moment!

.

.

Sometimes our ponies had an itch they just had to scratch…

.

.

Sometimes the photographer’s instructions could only make you go “???????”

.

.

Sometimes we had to have a “listen here you little…” chat…

.

.

But even when it all went haywire, we knew to shake it off…

.

.

And smile 🙂

.

.

As I ventured into canine photography, I met a character with such expressions they deserve their own dedicated section…

.

Back to the ponies, there were plenty more variations on what I love to call the ‘moose face’!

.

But we added a new face this year – the “AGGGHHH!!”

.

.

Sometimes our ponies told us they were getting cranky…

.

.

On the other hand, sometimes they felt a bit TOO relaxed…

.

Or tired…

.

.

So they thought they might take a nap (on their humans).

.

.

As always, we had plenty of lippy ponies…

.

.

Some even managed to grab a quick bite for the road!

.

.

Some ponies tried to tell us they were allergic to posing…

.

.

While some ponies felt like it was THEIR turn to be in the limelight (who needs to see our humans’ faces, anyway?)

.

.

Sometimes I felt like playing “LET ME LOVE YOU” by Akon…

.

.

We showed off the meaning behind “don’t try this at home, folks…”

.

.

And showed off how totally harmonious those group photos are behind the scenes!

.

.

But my favourite of all favourite blooper this year can only be summed up with “when you gotta go, you gotta go…”

.

I hope this blog post has served as a reminder that a bit of mess is always needed to make something beautiful. Don’t forget to check out the portfolio for the end results!

Wishing you a 2023 filled with as much laughter and joy as this blog post.
